I am a licensed psychologist in both New York and New Jersey with more than 24 years of experience working with people with a wide range of struggles. Prior to entering full time private practice almost two decades ago, I was on faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York from 2000-2004. During my tenure, I was Assistant Professor and Attending Psychologist at Montefiore's Adolescent Depression and Suicide Program where I conducted therapy with adolescents and families and supervised trainees. I also served as Director of Montefiore's Psychological Testing Service from 2001-2004. Before receiving my Ph.D. in psychology from Fordham University and completing a year long internship at Montefiore Medical Center, I earned a BA from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1995. In addition to maintaining a private practice on the West side of Manhattan and in Cresskill, NJ (Bergen County) treating both adults and adolescents, I have published scientific studies and presented workshops to schools, hospitals, and academic conferences on DBT and its application to adolescents. I have received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and completed the Foundation Training in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. |
